After a considerable amount of discussion and deliberation the Spokes BoD has voted to cancel this Saturday’s event. This was not an easy decision and certainly exceeds the pressure test of nearly any volunteer position instituted to organize recreational motorsports events held in a parking lot. In full transparency the main turning point was Gov. Abbott’s Executive Order that was amended/updated this morning. While we believe we could have run a very safe event within the bounds of the EO it was clear that this is a very real issue for our local communities and it’s going to take significant effort from everyone to resolve.Read More →

Unfortunately due to guidelines outside of our control we are forced to cancel the May 31st autocross at COTA. The Spokes BoD is discussing other possible make up events later in the year in addition to reworking the season points details. Hope to see everyone at the June event instead.Read More →

It was another beautiful Saturday this past weekend, as the action shifted to the River City Community Church in San Antonio for the third autocross of the year. This event drew competitors from Austin, San Antonio, and Houston! It was a beautiful day for autocross this past Sunday March 1st at the Circuit of the Americas (Lot H). The day started in the low 60s for the first heat, peaking in the mid/high 70s for the third heat. 163 drivers came out, of which 41 were novices! The Spokes 2020 season got off to a slippery start, with early morning rain resulting in a wet racing surface. Conditions during the first heat were damp, with improvements in the second heat (particularly towards the end). Third heat drivers hit the jackpot though, enjoying the full flavor of the great course designed by Javier R. Top time of day as well as top pax was taken by Aaron H in his SSC car.
